Re: Who is Going to PantheaCon?
Thu, February 2, 2006 - 1:23 PMI'll be there!
(And if anyone is looking for roomage, my friend and I got a double queen suite and still have bed and floor space for rent. The more people we can cram in, the less everyone has to chip in! The room is $300 for the weekend, so we're trying to whittle it down as much as possible)

Re: Who is Going to PantheaCon?
Sat, February 4, 2006 - 12:22 PMPantheaCon is a large Pagan Convention held every year in San Jose, California. There are people from all over giving classes, holding rituals, selling wears, networking, sharing time, and having fun. Personally I have never been, but many many friends of mine have gone and have always reported having had a great time.
More information is here:

Re: Who is Going to PantheaCon?
Mon, February 6, 2006 - 8:08 PMMe too. I'm a local so I'm not staying at the hotel. I'm really looking forward to it this year. I've attended a few Feri rituals (and Druidic ones and...) the last couple of years there, and was really taken by them. You know, we're gonna need a Tribe pin or something in order to ID each other. ;-) -

Re: Who is Going to PantheaCon?
Tue, February 7, 2006 - 12:40 AMI'm going too! So's my boyfriend Greg, and my ex and best friend. We'll be rooming in a different hotel, unfortunately, but we'll be there for the bulk of our time.
GODS, I'm so excited! And yeah, a pin or badge wouldn't be a bad idea! Maybe a seven pointed star on our badge or something...

Re: Who is Going to PantheaCon?
Tue, February 7, 2006 - 7:34 AMI'll be there, as Eldri said, selling stuff and doing the Discordian ritual. I don't think I can make the Feri ritual 'cos they've scheduled us immediately after it... we need the block between 7 & 9 on Sunday to eat something & do setup & prepwork. -

Re: Who is Going to PantheaCon?
Tue, February 7, 2006 - 11:25 AMnot sure yet. some of the workshops and the feri ritual look interesting, but i dunno.... been needing to get outside more lately, don't really want to be indoors in a hotel setting right now...

Re: Who is Going to PantheaCon?
Wed, February 8, 2006 - 7:55 AMI look forward to seeing those I know and those have not yet met. I intend to be at all the Feri workshops and the rituals. May at times break Anaar at her booth, if she needs it, but mostly soaking in the glowing of being with "the people". I'll have a room with my bonnie wife, Shari, and another couple Friday and Saturday...so, will be there until Sunday night.

Re: Who is Going to PantheaCon?
Tue, February 14, 2006 - 2:30 PMDid you say we should add the septagram star to our pantheacon badges? -
-
Re: Who is Going to PantheaCon?
Tue, February 14, 2006 - 4:42 PMI was thinking it would be cool to have some symbol to let us know who we were, since we don't have any secret handshakes and we don't show the secret decoder ring to just anyone now a days...
I was thinking a septagram might be useful to pick people out. -

Fri, February 17, 2006 - 12:12 AMIsn't that part of why we wear the Blue Beads? :-P -

Re: Who is Going to PantheaCon?
Sat, February 18, 2006 - 11:19 AMThat's so interesting, Oberyn. I know I have heard this bit of lore before, but it was not something that was passed to me in my pre-initiatory training. I have seen many Feries wearing blue beads before but never knew what the idea(s) behind them were. Do you have any info you can share?
Hope to see you at Pantheacon! I'll be there tomorrow probably around 2 or so. -

Re: Who is Going to PantheaCon?
Mon, February 20, 2006 - 5:38 PMI didn't see this until today, after getting back.
I was told that the blue beads are a thing ol' Victor taught that related to the Picts and that they are a circle of blue fire that you always carry with you.
There are more esoteric meanings that I'd have to look up to remember, such as a significance of the number 36 (or some number close to that).
My blue bead necklace has 36 main blue beads, with 9 of them being a starry-blue for the Nine Blue Stars of Ana, a moon bead, a Black Mirror bead, the bead I got at Empowerment, a Bloodrose surrounded by two red-and-green leaves (Red and Green Man) and then three tear-drop shaped beads for the three drops of Awen from the Cauldron (ya know, poet-y stuff).
It was really great seeing you, Storm. And since I live out here now, I should come visit every so often. :) -

Re: Who is Going to PantheaCon?
Mon, February 20, 2006 - 10:25 PMOh that sounds beautiful! I would love to see it sometime. Too bad I didn't get this until after Pantheacon, I could have asked to see your beads. <Insert "You-show-me yours and I'll-show-you-mine" joke here.> ;)

It was great seeing you! We should definitely hang out sometime soon.

Re: Who is Going to PantheaCon?
Tue, February 21, 2006 - 12:31 PMI just wanted to say how amazing this week-end was for me and how wonderful it was to meet so many of you... it's funny I am trying to write a sum-it-up post for my class' email list and it just keeps sounding like a name-dropping list of oh and then I met... LOL
Hopefully it will come together better a bit later. -

Re: Who is Going to PantheaCon?
Tue, February 21, 2006 - 2:28 PMyou know... lack of Feri stars aside, I think we recognized each other pretty well!
I was SO happy to meet all of you! And I can't wait to hang out with some of you again. This year was the best ever!
Blessings and Potato Salad,
